Polarity Therapy is a model of the human energy field derived from a combination of the health tenets of osteopathy, naturopathy, chiropractic, and Ayurveda created by Dr. Randolph Stone to promote health in a natural way, supporting our body’s innate intelligence. Our bodies have innate intelligence to fight off disease, heal wounds and injuries, and carry on complex actions throughout the day and night. The Polarity energy model describes how energy moves to create physical form, the movement of energy in the human body, and energetic patterns called Gunas underlying the 3 types of touch used in Polarity. It describes the relationships of various parts of the body, not only to each other, but also to nature’s elements--Ether, Air, Fire, Water and Earth—as well as to the larger whole of nature. Polarity bodywork engages the body’s innate ability to heal itself using the practitioner’s hands, energy exercises for good energy flow, self-awareness and helpful emotional/mental habits, and the energetics of nutrition to promote health. A polarity session at SynergyAlive is more than just having something done to you, it also involves learning about the world of energetics. It uses gentle awareness and knowledge-based touch, and is done with the client clothed in a relaxing atmosphere.
The Raphaelite Work™ is a path for healing and transformation developed by Himayat Inayati, ThD to support gaining wisdom and realization of the sacredness of life. It is illuminated by the universal teachings of Sufi wisdom updated by modern and post-modern Western thought and research, and is accessible to all no matter what spiritual path they travel. The Raphaelite Work offers "inner journeying" as a way to develop insight and personal growth using breath and presence. A five body model is the basis for this work--the physical, emotional, mental, social, and spiritual. In addition to using The Raphaelite Work with Angela at SynergyAlive, knowledge about using the Raphaelite Work enriches personal meditations outside SynergyAlive.
Craniosacral Therapy is a gentle therapeutic approach based on the Osteopathic discovery of micro-movements in the body. Through extensive experimentation, early osteopathic physicians determined that when this motion has full expression, many conditions improve. The name “Craniosacral” specifically indicates the importance of the central structures of the body including cranium, spine and sacrum.
Craniosacral Therapy involves gentle hands-on work that honors the client’s own self-healing process. The intention is not to fix problems, but rather to encourage the emergence of new levels of order in mind and body. Practitioners know how to recognize the presence of the Breath of Life in many levels and locations of the body, and use appropriate methods to support and nurture its natural expression.
A skilled craniosacral practitioner listens to the subtle pulsations of the system as the body tells its story. The body speaks through its rhythms, micro-movements and especially through its experience-managing patterns of physical shaping. With deep listening the practitioner encourages revitalization of the inherent healing potential of the system, and facilitates the release of resistance patterns. This approach emphasizes hearing the health of the system and encouraging its expression.
